Girls Day Out

A while ago I was able to have a girls day out with Ashley and AnnElise...

We went to the Ferry Building to check out the Farmer's Market that day.

I still love the free samples there...

And trying delicious types of hummus.

I was so excited to finally try Roli Roti (they are only at the farmer's market). The line for the porchetta sandwich was amazing.

Luckily for us it was a beautiful day,
but unlucky for all of our husbands who had to study.

We went window shopping too and fortunately Ashley had the inside scoop on this thrift store in the Haight that is my new favorite store. It's called Crossroads and it has found a new special place in my heart and made me actually enjoy shopping.

Brand new awesome Gap jeans for $7.00, yes please.
Brand new awesome H&M shoes for $13, of course!

I even took Jeff a few days later and he found two super cool American Apparel t-shirts for $4!

I'm not gonna lie. It was a good day :)

I'm alone with this...

Check out his creepy eyes...
Devil eyes. Seriously.

I think he knows what is about to happen to him.

I kept hearing him scrambling around in there, so I finally put a lid on it.
I'm about to go back to work and I really hope that thing stays in there until Jeff gets home.

Crabbin'

Jeff got this sudden urge to go crabbing, so on Monday we went. Jeff got home from taking a test and we left right away.

It was such a beautiful day.

The day before Jeff looked up what food was used to catch crabs...and it was definitely from the wrong source :) He read that fried chicken worked the best. We picked a couple pieces up from KFC. We felt kind of dumb when this crabber came up and asked us what we were using for bait. We told him chicken and he spotted our KFC bag, ha ha. This, of course, lead him to then ask us if we were using cooked chicken. Yeah...we got laughed at a little. I guess if you go crabbing - use squid (which we now have in our fridge in case anyone wants some - I know so sick, right?) or sardines. You live and you learn, ha ha, and feel a little stupid in the process.

Our net, unfortunately, never caught any. We bought some snares so the next time we'll have the net and fishing poles.

This guy was nice enough to let us use his knife.
(He didn't catch any either...so we're not the only losers out there)

These people used a net and they caught two.
We had to live vicariously through all the successful crabbers.

We finally caught one!

Not really.
But I took pictures of this one that the guy next to us caught.
He asked if I was going to put it up on YouTube,
which I thought was totally weird.
Who would really want to see a crab on YouTube?
Not to mention I wasn't taking video...

We were fascinated by the other people next to use catching so much crab.

This was the guy that asked what bait we were using.
He finally felt so bad for us he gave us some of his sardines.

They kept asking if we were from the city.
I guess we really stood out among all the fishermen.

This seal was just making his living off of the fishermen's bait.

Seriously, those snares were catching so many crabs.

Don't you see the seal looking at us?
Isn't that like the craziest thing you've ever seen?
He really was looking right at us!

This man caught two at once.
Some people just have all the luck.
Or at least all the right bait...

After we had fun failing at our first crabbing attempt, we went kite surfing.
That's Jeff.

Okay...we lived vicariously through the man that was kite surfing and just took pictures.
But we had fun just trying to crab :)
We're going again on Saturday morning if anyone wants to come!

P.S. - Jeff hates when I take pictures of just him, but I'm so good at sneaking them in :)

Sneak Peak

This is what we did Monday morning/afternoon before I went back to work...

Can you guess?

What cute pictures :)

Take notice of the KFC bag. Big mistake. It wasn't for us, ha ha.

These guys were swarming the whole time.

Look how cute...

Giants Fan Fest

See those holes in the wall?
Yup. Those are from baseballs hit by professional baseball players.
We were on the Giants baseball field because...we know people :)

Not really.
But we were actually on the Giants baseball field.

Earlier this month we went to the Giants Fan Fest. Neither of us quite knew what to expect because we hadn't ever been. Jeff was super excited and was so anxious to get out of the house. As we were driving there, we thought we might have missed our chance. The event hadn't even officially started yet, but the broadcasters on the SF sports radio announced that there were already so many Giants fans in line that if you weren't already in line - stay home. We were shocked they were actually telling people NOT to come!

We both decided we still had to try.
Best decision ever.

When we got there, we saw the line the broadcasters had been talking about. There were Giants employees telling people this was definitely the only line. But Jeff was convinced that these people were just being typical San Franciscans.

Since we've moved here Jeff has said that San Franciscans will stand in line for anything.
He says that they see a line and say, "Oh! A line. I should probably get it, even though I don't know what the heck I'm standing in line for or where this line is going!"

Well Jeff's theory was actually proved to be right this day. He said we should try going to the front gates to see what it looked like there because this line was at a complete stand still. We went to one side of the ballpark, and those gates were, slowly, feeding in the super long line we'd just passed. Then we went to the other side of the ballpark, and it was madness! There was kind of a line, but not really, feeding into the gates, but there were also just people everywhere. Jeff turned to me bright-eyed and said, "This is our chance!" So we pulled a Youngberg (Jeff's dad is king of this kind of stuff), we slipped on in (nobody being any the wiser), and we would've made Dad Youngberg proud :)

This doesn't show the line, but we went in here. There were just people everywhere, so no one was really paying any attention to who went in the gates as long as you let then check your bags.

Super awesome right?

The rest of the time was amazing. It was so crowded until we got the field. When we jumped down onto the baseball diamond, there was plenty of room.

Except for on the pitcher's mound...

Jeff's foot touching the pitcher's mound. Dream come true :)

Here we are looking like dorks...

But secretly pretending we're super awesome pro baseball players...

What the stadium looks like from the field...

the lights...

This picture reminds me of Field of Dreams for some reason...

And this is the line when we left...
Just PART of the line and this part was no where near the front.
These people were seriously just waiting and not moving.
They weren't going anywhere.

When we got into the stadium, they announced that the stadium was at full capacity.
No one else was let inside!
We left over an hour later and these people were still there.
Waiting.
